When strolling around the Yuanling Street next to Taipei Main Station, you will see an art installation of a gigantic black leather shoe. This is the famous Shoe Street. 

Yuanling Shoe Street dates back to the Qing dynasty. Back then, the Street was the political center within the Taipei City Walls. Now, the end of the Street still has a row of stores that preserves the baroque facades. The shoes here come in abundant styles and are all affordable. Apart from shoes, this Street also has clothes shops and bag shops. The items here are highly welcome among customers due to their low prices and good quality.
