You may take the metro from the taipei city and the last stop is danshui. which are good biking trial there and you may also easy to spot out some souvenior shops are all around. I was have seafood lunch in keelung by car and not sure the biking trail may reach there also. I have tried the raw lobster head with rice wine for good health. haha, you may think twice if you want too

    Cyclist's heaven

The ultimate experience in Taiwan is the "huan tao", the Tour of the Island. It is a seven or eight-day trip, about 1,050 kilometers. I did it three times. There is nothing I recommend more in Taiwan. However, you can't do it like this, without any kind of training. If you live in Taipei, the best place to train is right here, on the Riverside Bikeway. The network of these bikeways is pretty extended and it is still growing. What is more, the bicycles are really cheap in Taiwan. So don't think twice, buy a bike and enjoy your life! After several months, you can always thinks about my recommendation: Would you ride around the island?

Loved the place to walk, run or just enjoy the day

Very peaceful place which you can enjoy either by running, walking and having a good conversation or simply sit and see locals pass by and relaxing. Some people practice Thai Xi and some do yoga or relaxing early in the mornings.

Easy cycle from city to Tamsui.

We used the ubikes which you can get from various points in the city by getting a card. It was about 20kms along the river to Tamsui. fortunately the weather was great. Cost about $6 AUD for the day.

    Such a heavenly biking experience!

This is a must do experience in Taipei if you are an active outdoorsy person or you can just leisurely bike along the river trails for the fantastic views and stops along the way. I love active outdoor experiences and was pleasantly surprised to discover that Taipei was one of the best cities to bike. They have endless river tails that go by their rivers on both sides and passes numerous parks and beaches. I did this twice because it was so beautiful, relaxing, and fun. There is such a variety of scenes along the way that took my breath away. Also, to be able to bike endlessly without worrying about getting run over by cars is so wonderful. There are streets you cross, but the trail I took was mainly for only bikers/ walkers. The path is mostly paved as well, which makes the ride comfortable. There are various access points. I rented my bike from the Ubike kiosks. See my review of Ubike on Tripadvisor. They are a fantastic, comfortable, and cheap bike rental option! There are many places to stop and rest along the way with restrooms in those areas. These restrooms vary in cleanliness, so bring extra toilet paper and soap, which I did, making using these places tolerable. Grateful to have them scattered about though, which beats finding a bush 😊 The various parks and beaches are great places to visit on the way. I was mainly biking and passed through. There are various places to eat and get drinks too. I highly recommend this trail and it is a must visit experience. I would absolutely come back next time in Taipei.
