Taking place in Shilin District; visitors can take the MRT and get off at Jiantan, Shilin, and Zhishan stations; venues include Taipei Performing Arts Center, Shilin Night Market, Shuangxi Riverside Park, Taipei Astronomical Museum, Taipei Children's Amusement Park, National Taiwan Science Education Center, and Meilun Park
The Taipei Lantern Festival is held in Shilin for ten nights, featuring over 100,000 lanterns and lantern art in area of 300,000 square meters. There is also a lantern area along the beautiful Shuang River. The splendid evening visual feast is combined with sights and the diverse food offerings of Shilin.
