The Shopping District Carnival has been held since 2016 with Taipei Business District and Industrial Confederation to promote the city’s distinctive shopping areas. Businesses of food shopping areas such as Dihua Street, Bangka, and Shilin; general goods shopping areas such as Beimen Camera Street, Yuanling Street, Chongqing South Road Book Street, Zhonghua Road Audio and Electronics Street, Yuanshan, and Rear Station Huayin Street; and leisure and tourism shopping areas such as Gongguan, Maokong, and New Beitou are invited to take part. An exhibition method is used to raise the profile of the city’ shopping areas and boost business opportunities. Each year, over 70 businesses in more than 20 shopping areas take part, attracting more than 50,000 people and bringing in average revenue of NT$25 million during the activity period.
