At the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in Wanhua District, a monument commemorating the former site of Ocean Gods Temple in Bangka stands, built to protect safe navigation and water transportation. During the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, merchants in Bangka suburbs planned to build the temple, dedicating it to Yu the Great (Emperor Yu). Later, due to the temple's dilapidated state and the Japanese government's urban planning, the temple was demolished and lost to history.
