Parents and Kids Carnival – Riverside Children Arts and Leisure Fun
Date and Time: Saturday, May 18 (14:00 – 18:00)
Venue:Xikou Wharf/Riverbank along Rainbow Bridge (next to Raohe Street Night Market)
Details: Entering the month of May, the Songshan District Office will be holding the Parents and Kids Carnival at the riverbank area next to Rainbow Bridge. The event details are as follows:
Romantic Interest from Previous Life: Parent and Kids Couple Costume Competition
Time: Noon – 18:00
Details: The organizers invite kids between 4 and 12 years of age (birthdate falls between May 18, 2006 and May 18, 2015; Taipei residents have priority) to showcase on the catwalk their original attire for couples with their parents. The performers will be judged by professional panelists and members of the audience. The winner of the competition will receive a roundtrip ticket to Tokyo (for details, please refer to the activity pamphlet)! Highlighting the theme “Romantic Interest from Previous Life,” those interested in signing up should can pick a name for their team and prepare their costumes in accordance with the subject.

Songshan Coming-of-age Ceremony: Hands-on with Canoe (14:30 – 18:00)
We welcome individuals ages 16 through 18 (born 2001 – 2003) who are either residents of Taipei City or attend schools in Taipei City to sign up. On a basis of two occupants per canoe, participants will take part in a challenge which tests their sense of balance and stamina, as well as how good he or she is at cooperating with others. During the event, participants will present flowers to their parents, while the parents return the favor with a gift of their own choice, symbolizing succession and blessing. Riverside Children Leisure Fun (14:00 – 18:00)
The event venue comprises numerous booths and stalls including interactive games, hands-on disaster prevention event, food stand, and more!
In addition to the family fashion show taking place at the main stage, the organizers have also invited the beloved “Yoyoman” to perform the “Yoyo Brother and Sister Singing and Dance Show” to entertain the kids. The members of numerous community development association will also take to the stage to show off their talents, attracting spectators to enjoy the shows!
