For purchases of NT$3,000 or more at a Beimen Photographic Supply District Development Association member store, you may collect a VIP course pass to participate in the free “outdoor shooting activity” and “Online Photography School”, so as to become an expert photographer in no time!
According to the Taipei City Office of Commerce (TCOOC), Beimen Photographic Supply District features the largest collection of photographic and video equipment stores in Taiwan, and many master photographers can be found here, too, documenting the contemporary history of Taiwan and Beimen. Despite the emergence of smartphones and photo editing software, the stores insist on offering professional technical consultations and aftersales service in a bid to fortify the competitiveness of the supply district. This summer, to cater to the needs of consumers, the supply district has hosted photography lessons, outdoor shooting activities, and photography contests under the guidance of TCOOC. The aim is to satisfy consumers’ need for knowledge and inject youthful exuberance!
Beimen Photographic Supply District Development Association commented that many consumers have expressed their desire to learn photography skills when purchasing a camera because it would be a shame to purchase an excellent camera without knowing how to use it. Consequently, numerous experienced professional photographers have been invited to partake in the activity. The “Online Photography School” will be conducted in conjunction with a dedicated classroom, photography instructor, and team teaching website to impart photography-related knowledge through the Internet, as well as to conduct outdoor photography activities. The unique aspect of this program is that there is no time constraint, as participants can participate in the lesion through the Internet and review what they have learned at any time.
In addition, the “Fun Outdoor Photography Class” takes the students to well-known scenic attractions in north Taiwan, such as Taipei’s Beimen, historic monuments in Dadaocheng, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taoyuan’s Bald Cypress Boulevard, Yilan’s Jimmy Park, and Hsinchu’s Chapel of Angels, etc. Moreover, cosplay and food photography lessons are also available, with professional photographers demonstrating how to capture magnificent sceneries and explore photography techniques in person. There is also the possibility of meeting more fellow photography enthusiasts during the fun and educational trip.
The Beimen Photographic Supply District has supported the city government’s 2019 Taipei Valentine’s Day event by hosting a Dadaocheng fireworks show and related activities-themed photography contest. Not only are there grand prizes such as SLR cameras and Camera Street shopping credits, but winning photographs will also be exhibited in lightboxes at MRT stations. Submission begins on August 3 and ends on August 16, 2019; all avid photographers are invited to partake in the contest.
