Taipei City Government is appealing to all businesses in the food, stay, play, shopping, and traffic industry as well as government agencies to join the information station service. Registration begins now until October 4, 2019.
According to the Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) City Tourism Division Chief Chu Pin-tse, any cultural and creative store, travelers’ inn, gourmet restaurant, souvenir shop, museum or government agency and its subsidiary can become a Taipei City Information Station by providing enthusiastic service, travel information, Wi-Fi or friendly multilingual travel services. Those interested in becoming an information station can understand the criteria needed by reading the Taipei City Information Station Application and Management Plan.
There are currently 25 information stations in Taipei City dispersed throughout different districts, listed below:
Food information stations: SanHoYan-Zhongxiao The Original, Farmhouse Café, Warm Up Café, Yannick Sweet Village Coffee Years, HOK (House of Kuo), DOORS Coffee, Ice Monster, Yoursplace, Yu Hua Hsin Nangang Store and Bade Store;
Stay information stations: Cho Hotel, Mono’tel Shilin Hostel, Beimen WOW Poshtel, On My Way Taipei Hostel; Play information stations: Evergreen Maritime Museum, Guandu Temple, Huashan 1914 Creative Park;
Shopping information stations: Taipei City Mall, DD Toy Town, LEECO OUTLET Gongguan Store, KK Jute Bag, YABOOK, Wang Tea, Ateliea Tea．Yongkang Park, Lovely Taiwan Shop
This time around, more shops will be recruited to expand travel service locations to every corner in Taipei, thereby creating a friendly, convenient travel environment for domestic and foreign tourists. In addition, the selected stores and organizations will receive an exclusive information station sign, electrostatic stickers, map information signboard (in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean), service manual, and short video. Furthermore, the TPEDOIT will publish the location of various information stations on the Travel Taipei website to promote and market the friendliness and unique features of various stores and organizations.
There are limited spots available; in order to let those who are interested in becoming an information station obtain more relevant information, the TPEDOIT will conduct a Taipei City Information Station Recruitment Briefing at the 3F media briefing room at Hakka Cultural Center of Taipei City Hakka Cultural Park at 14:00 on September 11 (Address: No. 2, Sec. 3, Tingzhou Rd., Zhongzheng Dist., Taipei City; MRT Taipower Building Station exit 5. Directions: Head towards Shida Rd. until the intersection at Sec. 3, Tingzhou Rd. and cross the underpass to reach the destination; approximately 4 minutes walking distance).
