In compliance with pandemic prevention policy adjustments, the Taipei Public Library (TPL) and affiliated branch libraries will reopen to the public starting August 1.

The following facilities are the exceptions and will remain closed: all intelligent libraries, as well as all borrow and return workstations. The following facilities remain closed but have set up temporary desk for reserved books pickup: Liuxiang Neighborhood Reading Room and TPL Shilin Branch Library Temporary Facility.

The reopened facilities will go back to their regular hours after reopening. However, selected sections inside the building remain closed, including the activity spaces for toddlers and children, indoor event sites, study room/area, and database search and public computer areas.

Despite the relaxation of measures, visitors are still required to comply with contact-tracing registrations, temperature-taking before entry, and face mask at all times when visiting the library.

TPL Director Hung Che-yi remarked that all service desks at TPL and related facilities have installed transparent plastic curtains and equipped with disinfection boxes and hand sanitizers for visitors. To reduce the risk of contagion, all reopened facilities will have their maximum occupancy reduced to 25-percent of the standard limit.
