In light of the impact of the pandemic upon local businesses, the city government will offer additional relief to the businesses affected by the quasi-lockdown – especially those in Wanhua District – to help them weather the storm.

The city government pointed out that commercial service businesses in Wanhua District which are eligible for subsidies under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Subsidy for Business and Service Industry Adversely Affected by Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens in 2021 will receive additional cash from the City.

Businesses approved by MOEA for the subsidy will receive an extra NT$20,000 from Taipei City Government as well. For businesses eligible for the MOEA subsidy but where 10% of the total received exceeds NT$20,000, the extra subsidy from city hall will be 10% of the MOEA subsidy instead of the NT$20,000. Businesses will not need to file any additional paperwork for this bonus fund.

Regarding businesses newly established in May and June, they do not qualify for MOEA subsidy due to a lack of revenue from March and April for application purposes. Nonetheless, to help these new wholesale, retail, and food and beverage businesses in Wanhua District, the city government will still provide them with NT$10,000 in subsidy. City staff will contact these businesses, encouraging them to file the application before the deadline on August 31.

For more information on the bonus subsidy provided by the city government and further questions, please call the service hotline (TEL: 02-27208889, ext. 6520 or 6525) or visit the following Chinese website.
