With Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) lowering COVID Alert down to Level 2 from July 27 through August 9, Taipei City Government will reopen parks and park pavilions to the general public starting July 27.

Furthermore, environmental education classrooms and reading rooms inside parks will reopen starting August 1. However, visitors are reminded to take note of the reduced occupancy due to pandemic prevention measures.

The management will also increase the frequencies of cleaning and disinfection of public areas such as temple grounds inside parks, pedestrian walkways, grass turfs, hiking trails in mountainous areas, and public restrooms. Tennis courts, tennis practice rooms, and badminton courts will also reopen on July 27, but users must observe social distancing guidelines of 1.5 meters. These facilities and roller-skating rinks also have a maximum occupancy of 1 individual per 2.25 square meters.

To minimize the possibility of contagion through contact, playgrounds, exercising equipment, basketball courts, and camping area at parks will remain off-limits. Any future decisions to reopen these facilities will be announced by the city government.

Regarding the reopening of environmental education classrooms and reading rooms, the maximum capacity for these indoor facilities will be set at 40 individuals indoors and 80 people outdoors. Seating will also be arranged with adequate spacing among individuals as well.

Visitors are also reminded to observe pandemic prevention best practices such as wearing face mask at all times, washing hands frequently, and observing social distancing of 1.5 meters or more.
