To optimize the use of spaces within MRT station complexes, the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation established the Metro Corner at MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station as a part of a pilot project. The mini food court offers both “dine-in” and “takeout” options for MRT riders both inside and outside the station (Note: The “dine-in” option is only available on the side of the shop accessible to customers outside the station).
Stores at the Metro Corner
The trial operation at MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station consists of several stores: a bakery, a coffee shop, a steamed buns shop, and a donut shop. Passengers will have no need to exit or enter the station in order to satisfy their need for a a quick breakfast, afternoon tea, or nighttime snack. The official opening of the facility is slated for March.

The respective stalls are offering great deals to boost sales during the trial period. Hogan Bakery provides a 20% discount storewide through February 20, while Pucci Buns offers the first 15 customers who purchase a 4-pack steamed bun with a free cold bag, up to February 28. Meanwhile, HWC Coffee’s customers can purchase selected coffee beans and drip coffee bags at 20% off before February 28, while patrons of Krispy Kreme will enjoy discounts for donut gift sets before March 25.

The first of its kind in Taipei’s metro system, the Metro Corner is located on B1 (transit corridor) of MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station, in front of the information counter near Exit 5. Each stall is organized in a way allowing both passengers inside and outside of the MRT station gates to access products, allowing them to pick and purchase goods without the need to enter or exit the station.
