The renovated park boasts a layout including dynamic playground area, interactive waterway area, and sports and exercise area. It is the first inclusive aqua-friendly park for all age groups that incorporated low impact development (LID) into its latest design. The splash areas of the park will be accessible to the public during the summer seasons.

The Sewer Engineering Department pointed out that Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant is the largest Level 2 Sewage Treatment Plant in the nation. In addition to processing waste water, it also bears the responsibility of creating a friendly environment for the community. Since its inauguration, the Dihua Leisure and Sports Park has served the neighborhood for over 15 years. With changing times and growing focus on the ecosystem, the renewal effort saw the incorporation of LID principles and opinions from local leaders, parents, children, experts, and more.

Highlighting the theme of “water”, the renewed park utilizes technologies such as permeable paving, green rooftops, waste water recycling, and playground equipment made from environmental-friendly and toxic-free materials to ensure a safe and sustainable playing environment for users spanning different age groups.

Public Works Section Chief Tseng explained that the merging of art and aesthetics into the park environment symbolizes the connection between land and water through the riverside park. The latest design reflects both the outdoor openness of the Tamsui River while reminding users of the deep cultural roots of Dadaocheng. For those who want to enjoy the beautiful riverside landscape at nightfall, the hanging garden on the second level is the perfect place to visit.
