During his address, the mayor expressed his gratitude to the audience for attending the awards ceremony. He noted that the city government has been fully supportive of efforts to promote beef noodle. The annual output value of Taiwan’s beef noodle cuisine falls between NT$4 billion and NT$5 billion. Taipei City accounts for roughly half of the nation’s total in this field.
Ko stressed that Taipei City’s beef noodle promotion plan incorporates public-private-partnership. The driving force behind the promotion campaign is the private sector organization Taipei City Beef Noodle Exchange and Development Association. The government’s role in promoting beef noodle is more focused on providing subsidies and assistance.
The mayor pointed out that the two-day-long international beef noodle competition this year is subdivided into two categories – Braised Beef Noodle and Prepared Frozen Beef Noodle. According to the mayor, one good thing about visiting the Beef Noodle Fair at the Expo Park is that people will not have to travel across the island to taste beef noodles from different parts of Taiwan. It is very convenient to be able to purchase the tastiest beef noodle in Taipei City – and even in Taiwan – at the event today.
With temperature taking a drop, the mayor encourages the public to enjoy a bowl of hot, delicious beef noodle. The city government will continue to work with the Beef Noodle Development Association to promote the cuisine.
