With Christmas just around the corner, Taipei Water Park, located in Gongguan District, Taipei City, is set to hold the Gongguan Christmas Season from Dec 3 to 31. The Taipei Water Department has decorated the Water Park with festive flowers and lighting installations to accompany the public to celebrate the end of the year. There will also be a “Wishing Wall” for members of the public to write down and convey wishes and blessings. What’s more, a treasure hunt with exciting prize draws will also be launched in cooperation with the nearby Gongguan Shopping District, as well as a special guided tour to explore the underground Water Palace. We welcome all members of the public to visit and enjoy the exciting lineup of activities to celebrate the new year.
Unique lighting decorations for the Gongguan Christmas Season
Now in its 12th year, the Gongguan Christmas Season is themed "Blessings from the Museum of Drinking Water", and the Christmas garden is decorated with water pipe materials and elegant historic monuments. A 25-meter-long Wishing Wall will also be set up in line with this year’s theme. Visitors who take pictures in the Water Park and post on social media will also receive a museum-exclusive wishing board for a limited time only, allowing them to hang their heartfelt wishes and blessings, and share their love and blessings together.

The Taipei Water Department pointed out that the "2022 Gongguan Christmas Season" will be open until 8 p.m. (ticketing and admission until 7 p.m.) during the 4-week period, except for Mondays when the park is closed. The Taipei Water Department has expanded the scale of Christmas lighting show this year, combining the characteristics of "water" in the park with a number of color-changing light globes in the main entrance landscape pool, reflecting the water waves and the night sky in a dazzling display of lights and reflections. Three main photospots are also featured this year, "Sparkling Anywhere Door", "Starlight Tunnel" and "Giant Santa Claus Hat", are set against the backdrop of the elegant century-old Museum of Drinking Water and the park landscape, making it a unique sight unlike any other Christmas event.

The Taipei Water Department noted that in this Christmas Season, the Water Park will continue to collaborate with the Gongguan Shopping District in the "Gongguan Shopping District x Water Expo Treasure Hunt" activity. Visitors who purchase a ticket to visit the Water Park during the event period will receive a “Treasure Hunt Card”, which they can use to find the corresponding landscape and stamp it, and then go to participating stores in the Gongguan Shopping District to take a photo for verification to be eligible for the lucky draw. The grand prizes this year include Switch + Ring-Con, iPads, Airpods, meal vouchers for two at a famous spicy hot pot restaurant and NT$200 convenience store gift vouchers, with a total market value of more than NT$30,000. The wealth of goodies await lucky winners to take home!

In addition, guided tours for the most popular secret attraction in the Water Park, the Guanyinshan Reservoir, also known as the Underground Water Palace, has often sold out since its opening in 2018. Therefore, the Taipei Water Department has added a special "Taipei Waterways - Guanyinshan Reservoir" unguided Christmas tour and will open online ticket sales at 10:00 a.m. on December 2 (website: https://taipeiwaterpark.welcometw.com/banner/AlX). The price of the Christmas Season ticket is also NT$120 (including admission to the Water Park), plus an exclusive gift pack during the event period. After a tour of the Underground Water Palace, enjoy the museum's beautiful nighttime lighting decorations for a worthwhile experience.
