Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) announced that the Maokong Gondola has completed its 14-day-long annual checkup and will recommence operations on December 11. In addition, the facility will also extend the business hours by one hour on weekdays during the first half of 2023. 

The Maokong Station is a popular date spot for couples, as well as for those who seek an ideal location to propose to his or her romantic interest. To allow visitors to savor the beautiful nighttime landscape around the station, the Maokong Gondola will extend its hours to 9 PM on weekdays between December 11, 2022 and June 30, 2023. During this period, the gondola will be open from 9 AM through 9 PM on weekdays, and 9 AM through 10 PM during weekends and holidays. 

With the gondola completing annual maintenance, it will remain open on Monday, December 12. TRTC reminds visitors that the Maokong Gondola is usually closed on Monday, with the exception of Monday being a holiday.

To celebrate the reopening of the gondola, TRTC has introduced a limited version EasyCard featuring characters from the "Gondola Family." The cute but lazy sloth finds itself on top of the gondola cabin, while the excited leopard cat looks out from the gondola cabin. Of course, who can forget about the teapot brothers as they busily prepare tea for visitors?

Each Gondola Family EasyCard comes with a price tag of NT$169. It is available from the MRT souvenir shops at MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station, MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, and MRT Zhongshan Station.
