As the pandemic slows down and the country reopens, international tourists from Hong Kong, Macau, Europe and the United States increasingly swamp Taiwan. In order to lure international tourists, the Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government (TPEDOIT) has launched the UNDISCOVERED TAIPEI campaign. From March 14th to June 30th, international visitors who stay in a designated hotel in Taipei for 2 nights, as well as cruise passengers and European tourists in transit for more than 15 hours, can get a limited number of complimentary Taipei Sightseeing Bus tickets. In addition, on March 13th, TPEDOIT announced its partnering with numerous hotels in Taipei City. During this event, international visitors will be able to enjoy a limited offer and stay in prestigious five-star hotels at NTD 3,600, saving nearly NTD 10,000 at most!
UNDISCOVERED TAIPEI cooperates with major hotel sectors to attract customers. TPEDOIT indicated that international tourists who stay in a designated hotel for 2 consecutive nights can enjoy special discounts and, if they present their passports when checking in, they can get an UNDISCOVERED TAIPEI Welcome Gift! Designated hotels in Taipei City include, but are not limited to, renowned hotels such as Regent Taipei, Hotel Royal-Nikko Taipei, and Grand Hotel. Foreign tourists who visit Taiwan during this event might win an opportunity to book a room originally priced at more than NTD 10,000 with NTD 3,600! Besides, Landis Taipei not only offers a special room rate of NTD 3,600, but also provides a Buy-One-Get-One-Free promotion for breakfast; for detailed information on hotel accommodation discounts of UNDISCOVERED TAIPEI, please visit:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hMrdYurFwCc15SsWe156_RIscgbdpYlo/edit#gid=98560129
TPEDOIT emphasizes that, in the future, the Department will continue to expand its partnership plan and raise the number of designated hotels in Taipei City. It will also strive, in collaboration with local sectors, to entice more international tourists. By offering a series of preferential marketing activities, TPEDOIT aims to turn Taipei City into the top choice among international tourists, boost tourism popularity in Taipei, and create more business opportunities for inbound tourism.
TPEDOIT also added that for international tourists coming to Taiwan, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s office in Frankfurt also cooperates with national airlines of Taiwan, to target foreign tourists from Europe who stopover in Taipei before going to New Zealand and Australia (transit time for more than 15 hours), to give "Free Airport MRT One-way Ticket" and "Taipei MRT Easy Card ", to enable passengers to travel through convenient public transportation to various major attractions.
