This year, the Taipei City Government is hosting the "112th National Day Flag Raising and Celebration Event." In addition to the flag-raising ceremony, the leading of the singing of the national anthem, and various performances, citizens are invited to participate in a National Day Fun Run, promoting a vibrant and youthful image of Taipei City. Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an will lead department heads and citizens in a morning jog in front of Taipei City Hall, kicking off a day full of fresh energy. The running route will loop around the Taipei City Hall area roads (Shifu Road, Songgao Road, Songzhi Road, and Songshou Road) three times. Upon presenting their race bib, participants will receive a special National Day gift, a limited edition towel.
In addition, for the first time on National Day, there will be a "National Day Good Morning Market" in collaboration with the well-known Taipei market brand "Hangout Market." After participating in the flag-raising ceremony and the health run, citizens can enjoy a variety of delicious food at the market. The event will feature 20 vendors offering breakfast, desserts, snacks, beverages, and creative merchandise, providing a rich and exciting experience. A new National Day morning market theme will be created at the market entrance for citizens to take photos and share their experiences. Furthermore, citizens are encouraged to join in the festive spirit by wearing clothing and accessories inspired by the national flag, adding to the lively atmosphere of National Day!
The Taipei City Government's Department of Civil Affairs has announced that this year's National Day Fun Run event will be conducted through an "online registration and lottery drawing, on-site check-in" system. Citizens can register for the lottery from 2:00 p.m. on September 26th to 12:00 p.m. on October 3rd through two channels: by downloading the "TaipeiPass App" and becoming a member, or by visiting the event registration webpage (https://tp-service.gov.taipei/runningActivity) and registering using one of the following methods: "National Health Insurance Card," "Mobile Phone Carrier," "Citizen Digital Certificate," or "Mobile Citizen Digital Certificate." Upon completing the registration during this period, participants will be eligible for the lottery drawing. The organizers will randomly select 3,500 lucky winners, and the list of winners will be announced on the Department of Civil Affairs' official website and the TaipeiPass App at 2:00 p.m. on October 5th. Additionally, winners will be notified via SMS and email.
Winners are required to go to the check-in area for participants of the National Day Fun Run event on October 10th, National Day, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. To collect their running bibs, they should present the "TaipeiPass App," "identification documents", and the "Winning Notification Message." After participating in the National Day flag-raising ceremony and the Fun Run event, they can obtain one "National Day Limited Edition Towel" by presenting their running bibs. Participants who fail to check in by 7:30 a.m. on October 10th will be considered to have voluntarily forfeited their qualification. For inquiries, please contact Ms. Yang from the National Day Event Team at 02-5576-0528.
The Department of Civil Affairs would like to remind everyone that on October 10th, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., traffic control measures will be in place around Taipei City Hall (the entire section of Shifu Road from Songgao Road to Songshou Road will be closed, as well as the lanes adjacent to the city hall on Songgao Road [Shifu-Songzhi], Songzhi Road [Songgao-Songshou], and Songshou Road [Shifu-Songzhi]). To avoid traffic congestion, it is strongly recommended that citizens use public transportation, such as the MRT, to travel to the event location. Additionally, while the severe pneumonia with novel pathogens pandemic has been downgraded, individuals who plan to attend the National Day celebrations are advised not to participate if they are practicing self-health management, experiencing fever or respiratory symptoms, or have communicable diseases.
