Taipei City Government received the highest-level "Excellence" recognition in the 2025 performance evaluation of local governments' management and guidance of the accommodation industry conducted by the Tourism Administration, MOTC. On March 31, Department of Information and Tourism Commissioner Yu Hsiang presented the award plaque to Mayor Chiang Wan-an at the city affairs meeting. Mayor Chiang noted that Taipei City has not only been recognized for its accommodation management and guidance, but that in 2025 Taipei City's accommodation market generated more than NT$67.4 billion in total revenue, while the output value of the accommodation and food and beverage industries reached more than NT$323.7 billion, both ranking first nationwide. He expressed hope that the Department of Information and Tourism will continue safeguarding travelers by strengthening illegal accommodation management, cross-agency inspections, and guidance for the accommodation industry to improve service quality, making Taipei an even safer and more secure accommodation environment.

According to the Department of Information and Tourism, the Tourism Administration, MOTC evaluates local governments' performance in accommodation industry management every year. Taipei City's receipt of the "Excellence" rating this time reflects the high recognition given by experts to the Taipei City Government in all aspects of accommodation safety and consumer rights protection, guidance for legal accommodations, and enforcement against illegal accommodations.
The Department of Information and Tourism stated that, in addition to Taipei City Government's outstanding performance in accommodation management, Taipei City's hotel occupancy rate exceeded 70% in 2025, and the number of stays at general hotels in the city reached 15.6 million. Total revenue in Taipei City's accommodation market exceeded NT$67.4 billion, while the output value of the accommodation and food and beverage industries reached more than NT$323.7 billion, both ranking first nationwide. With the opening of Taipei Dome and the growth of the concert economy, together with a full year of diverse large-scale events, rich food culture, international visibility, and well-developed urban functions, Taipei City has demonstrated strong tourism appeal and driven the growth of both the dining and accommodation sectors.
The Department of Information and Tourism stated that Taipei City is currently home to more than 600 hotels and over 40,000 guest rooms. With convenient transportation, mature urban amenities, and intensive business activity, the city is well positioned to meet the needs of high-end and business travelers. As international hotel brands continue to enter the market, including InterContinental Taipei, which is expected to open this summer, Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, and Andaz will also open in succession in the future, demonstrating the momentum of Taipei City's tourism development. Taipei City Government will continue to combine large-scale events with city marketing, work with industry operators to promote joint promotions and raise occupancy rates, and build a safe, high-quality, and internationally competitive tourism environment to inject long-term momentum into the city's industrial development.
