The 2026 Yangmingshan Zhuzihu Flower Festival, themed "A Symphony of Flower Fields," is underway, and Hydrangea flowers have now reached their prime blooming period. As the season moves into midsummer and temperatures on the plains continue to soar, Zhuzihu on Yangmingshan, thanks to its high-elevation terrain, remains especially pleasant and cool, making it an ideal summer retreat. Those who have not yet headed up the mountain to enjoy the flowers need not worry: the Hydrangea season continues through late June. The public is warmly invited to make the most of the bloom period, head up the mountain, stroll along the waterside trails, and take in the vividly blooming sea of blue-purple Hydrangea up close.
With its humid climate and suitable soil characteristics, the Zhuzihu area of Yangmingshan is conducive to the growth of Hydrangea and has in recent years become a distinctive early-summer landscape feature of the Zhuzihu area. The Geotechnical Engineering Office stated that, to address farmland washout problems previously caused by the terrain in the Zhuzihu area, it has continued over the years to invest resources in creek channel improvements and waterside revetment construction. While maintaining the natural ecology, a multi-layered stone-stacking method has been adopted to effectively stabilize farmland, support disaster prevention, and create a harmonious natural landscape.
Mountain weather changes quickly in early summer. As Hydrangea flowers are in full bloom, visitors are advised to make greater use of public transportation to avoid traffic congestion and preserve a relaxed flower-viewing experience, enjoying an easy journey amid mist and a sea of flowers.
1. Take the MRT Tamsui Line to Beitou Station, then transfer to Bus Mini-9 and get off at Hutian Elementary School Stop or Zhuzihu Police Station Stop.
2. Take the MRT Tamsui Line to Shipai Station, then transfer to Bus Mini-8 and get off at Hutian Elementary School Stop or Zhuzihu Police Station Stop.
3. Take Bus 108, 109, 110, 230, 260, or Red 5 to Yangmingshan, then transfer to Bus Mini-9 and get off at Hutian Elementary School Stop or Zhuzihu Stop.
