Located directly across from Dadaocheng Wharf, Datong Plaza No.16 links riverside scenery with the century-old Guide Street and serves as a key gateway to the history of Dadaocheng. The Parks and Street Lights Office, Taipei City Government recently completed tree-trimming work at the plaza, improving light penetration and sightlines while balancing tree health with landscape quality. As a result, the historic streetscape of Guide Street, once obscured by trees, has been revealed again, attracting more visitors to explore the neighborhood.

Today, the street is still lined with numerous historic buildings, including Lee Chun-sheng Memorial Christ Presbyterian Church, Chen Tian-lai Residence, Dadaocheng Qianqiu Street Shophouse, and the Former Residence of Lee Lin-Chiu, all bearing witness to the development of Dadaocheng over time.

At the center of the plaza stands a bronze sculpture titled Spring of Dadaocheng, depicting a mother and child embracing as they gaze toward the Tamsui River, symbolizing hope and river port culture. The levee wall and wave-like textures beneath the sculpture also echo the bustling shipping scenes once seen at Dadaocheng Wharf.
