Legend has it that the beef noodle recipe of this popular establishment was secreted out of the Qing imperial kitchen by a chef who scribbled it on his shirt. Though the story is subject to doubt, there is no question that Mu Ji's beef noodles are fit for a king. The hand-rolled noodles are topped with a generous portion of chewy beef. Both the stewed and braised varieties are sure to satisfy. The restaurant is also known for its beef buns.
