AKI Gallery is delighted to present the inaugural solo exhibition of American artist Robert KUSHNER (b.1949) in Taiwan— "Flower / Robert KUSHNER." Robert KUSHNER is a prominent figure in the Pattern and Decoration movement, which emerged in the United States in the mid-1970s to early 1980s as a reaction against minimalism and conceptualism. In his compositions, various forms of collage disrupt the conventional perspective of foreground and background, encouraging viewers to imagine freely and break away from traditional ways of viewing. The juxtaposition of sentimental, abundant, and contradictory materials and patterns exudes a magnificent combination akin to abstract artworks, conveying genuine expressions that bring pleasure and solace to the viewer's heart.
