With an elevation of approximately 670 meters, Zhuzihu is an area nestled in the valley surrounded by Mt. Datun, Mt. Qixing, and Mt. Xiaoguanyin. Often enshrouded in cloud and mist, the photogenic scenes bear a close resemblance to paradise. Since the temperature in the mountains is lower than that of the ground level and the weather is more unpredictable, please remember to stay warm and bring rain gear with you when taking photos of calla lilies in Zhuzihu.
This year, Beitou Farmers’ Association, Zhuzihu farms, and Chi-Hsin Agricultural Development Foundation have meticulously designed 10 pleasant and interesting Instagram check-in locations consisting of 4 free locations (Zhuzihu Dinghu entrance, water park, Discovery Garden, and Zhuzihu entrance parking lot) and 6 private farms (Green Hollow Calla Plantation, Jaifu Garden, Flower Dale Calla Plantation, Min Yan Pu, Miau Ban Garden Restaurant, and Hutian Da Shu Xia). Everyone is welcome to visit Zhuzihu to capture magnificent moments and memories at the exclusive check-in spots.
According to Taipei City Government’s Department of Economic Development (DOED), it has collaborated with the premier entertainment and lifestyle brand in Asia, KKBOX (KKBOX Taiwan Co., Ltd., headquartered in Taipei City), this year to generate more buzz and momentum for the 2020 Zhuzihu Calla Lily and Hydrangea Festival by combining the music, entertainment, and networking technology with Zhuzihu’s leisure agriculture industry. From now until April 12, citizens who have taken photos and checked-in at the 10 aforementioned locations according to regulations will receive a serial number that entitles the user to listen to unlimited music free of charge for 30 days. 2020 Zhuzihu Calla Lily and Hydrangea Festival kicked off on March 27; the flowering period of the calla lily will last until May, followed by the blossoming of hydrangeas until June. To combat the outbreak, farmworkers have implemented self-health management, while the disinfection of farms and restaurants has also been stepped up to let people admire flowers at Zhuzihu with peace of mind. Furthermore, due to the limited width of roads in Zhuzihu, people are advised to make use of public transport. Taipei City Public Transportation Office indicated that is has instructed all bus service providers to make sure their drivers have their body temperatures taken before departure every day, while areas most frequently touched by passengers, such as seats, armrests, and handgrips, are disinfected every 8 hours to ensure peace of mind for the public.
For the latest information on the daily flowering conditions of the Zhuzihu Calla Lily Festival and transport-related details, please refer to the calla lily festival’s official website.
