Well kept house of much-loved author
Lin Yutang helped build a bridge between East and West. He spend a lot of time in the US, but never severed his China roots. He had the facility to write in colloquial Chinese and English. His best-loved book is 'My Country and my People.' (1935) It is the best book I have ever read about the people of China. Lin Yutang was neglected for many years, but his works are now undergoing a resurgence. His house is in the Yangmingshan area. Lin loved mountains, where he was born. His house is well-kept and not overly large, but well worth a visit. -

A quiet and nice place with great view
The house is not very large but cosy and beautiful. It’s a combination of Chinese and western archetecture. The view from the back balcony is very nice. Mr Lin Yutang’s tomb is behind the house too. It’s on the way to Yangming Shan. -

Beautiful and historical placr
This place is remarkable. It was the last house of a famous Chinese American writer, philosopher and inventor. His house located on a hill is like a museum with an amazing view of Taiwan. You can discover his life and philosophy. You can even buy some of his books. We bought "the importance of living". The restaurant is simple, the food is inspired by Western food and is just ok. They have several excellent coffees "grand cru". You can eat in this place, drink a coffee and think that you are back to 60s. If you like history, culture, you will like this place. -
