Love the flavourful broth and the beef was extremely tender. Friendly staff here too! Make sure to order their beef rolls as well!

Although the menu might seem to provide a large variety of dishes, there are basically only a few dishes, the main two being the clear beef soup noodles and the braised beef soup noodles (red/ dark brown soup). The apparent large variety on the menu is owing to the fact that you can select the cut of beef that you want: tendon, intestines, meat slices. They also give you the freedom to choose your type of noodle: the traditional fat noodle, thin noodles or mee hoon. The braised beef noodle soup is the traditional style of Taiwanese beef noodles, and was more flavourful than the clear soup alternative. The helpings were very generous with more beef than you need, so sharing is recommended. The beef scallion pancake was nice, not too oily. There was also a table where you could help yourself to free drinks, either water or wintermelon tea. The restaurant may appear small from the outside, but they actually have two floors of seating. If possible, try and get a seat in the basement, it is quieter, cooler and more pleasant.

The place is located right across from Taipei Medical University and was renovated since my last visit. The Beef Rolls are no more prepared in the dining area, which I missed so much. The beef noodle, whether thick or thin, braised or double-boiled, is always number One in town to me.

Famous to local people, but no English menu. Recommend "紅燒牛肉麵" for first time visitors. May need to wait 30mins in lunch/dinner time, deserve to try.

Our five point review: 1. One of the best beef noodle soups we've tried. Very tasty broth, deep flavor. We got 3 bowls of traditional beef noodle with wide noodles. Noodles are cooked al dente and very satisfying. Beef was juicy and in large chunks. 2. Definitely don't miss the beef and scallion wrapped in pancake. Brought me back to childhood. Crispy and flaky pancake around savory slices of beef and the oniony kick of the scallion is almost better than the noodles themselves! 3. Ambiance and service are typical Taiwanese specialty eats: no frills - but hopefully nobody is expecting that at a beef noodle place! 4. Location is right across from the Taiwan North Hospital - only a few minutes cab from Taipei 101 and even walkable if the weather is nice (and may be necessary after the full meal!) 5. Though not the cheapest beef noodle - the value cannot be dismissed. HUGE bowls that we could not finish with delicious sides. Definitely WORTH IT!
