Yangmingshan American Military Clubhouse
This is a restaurant converted from the original Yangmingshan American Military Clubhouse. The layout of buildings and pool as well as the views are gorgeous. It also has a room to display some history of this house. My first visit ever here but very impressed. The cocktails on the menu remind me that it’s been two years that I have not back to the US soil and I’m certainly somewhat homesick. After all, I spent my golden 20 some years there. I ordered the limited edition of steak with bone. It’s delicious but somewhat greasy. Tasted much better with some green (so we ordered a Cesar Salad later). The overall experience is great and we have already decided to return in November to try the “King overlord roasted whole chicken bread”. -

Ridiculous prices!
When you're paying almost NT$400 for Pesto Chicken Pasta you'd think it would be something special - especially when so many other places in Taiwan are HALF this price. But, it was disappointing. It was creamy, but under seasoned. The OMG Burger was OMG So Boring. Again, under seasoned. There wasn't even any mayonnaise, tomato sauce or mustard on the burger! You pay Starbucks prices for a Latte but its tiny and just warm. Because its so small (about half the size that you get from 7-11) that's probably why it got cold so quickly. Then on top of these ridiculous prices you pay 10% service charge. This restaurant is run by thieves. Ridiculously expensive prices for boring food, tiny servings and then they charge even more for service!?! There are much better choices only minutes away from this place so don't waste your money here! The owner should be embarrassed and ashamed! -

not worth the money
First the good things: The restaurant is located in a freshly refurbished historical building. It looks really great and the atmosphere is nice. Especially the seats near the huge windows look very nice and might be a good choice for afternoon tea. The restaurant is quite big and it is also kids friendly. However, there is one major drawback and therefore only a 2 point rating. The food was not good. The restaurant serves mainly pasta, risotto and a few other western style dishes. But these are all the same stuff what you can get in other western style restaurants in Taiwan. Nothing special or of great inspiration, but they prices are above average. The worst thing was the burger, which I ordered. It was the worst burger I ever ate. The beef patty was full of tendon, the meat was not juice or tasty at all. Regarding lunch, the visit was a great disappointment. Since the place seems to be relatively new, I hope that the food will improve over time.
