Located in Yangmingshan, Hushan Borough boasts farm village settlements with a rich culture and history. Every year, the elders in the borough prepares for the much-anticipated “Summertime Concert”, which brings visitors to the serene borough to enjoy music and mountain breeze.
This year’s Summertime Concert will take place starting 3:30 PM on August 22. The Kikikoko band, comprising senior citizens from the community, will take to the stage to demonstrate their skills with instruments in collaboration with friends from Caoshan LOHAS.
According to the Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO), Huanshan Borough is a place with numerous tourist attractions, including the Sunset Lookout, Windy Rock Lookout, Hengling Historical Trail, 248 Farmers’ Market, and more. There are numerous places to visit for those who decide to embark on a short daytrip.
Chief Chen of GEO’s Slope Conservation Section pointed out that the centenarian soap-nut tree is a well-known landmark and an object representing the shared memories of community members. The lookout where the tree is located can be found within the Hudi settlement. After the concert, visitors can travel to the community via the Hudi Trail. There are also ancient mansions, old pigsties, and rice paddies along the way.
The public is welcome to visit Hushan Borough to enjoy both the upcoming performance and the outdoor atmosphere in the mountains. For transportation, take the MRT to Xinbeitou Station and transfer to either Bus 25. Alternatively, take the train to MRT Shipai Station and transfer to Bus 535, disembarking at Wu Mansion Stop.
